EXAMINATION & PROMOTIONS
Promotion is based on whole year’s performance. The assessment structure and examination for classes I to VIII comprises two terms i.e.,
Term – 1 – April to October
Term – 2 – November to March
Final result will comprise the marks of Annual Examination –80 marks and Internal Assessment – 20 marks. Annual Examination will be conducted of 80 marks in which student need to secure minimum of 30% of marks.
Answer scripts of the 1st Terminal Examination will be shown to the students and parents only during Parents-Teachers meeting. Answer scripts of Final Exam will not be shown and the papers will be checked by the Principal only. Surprise tests will be conducted at any time throughout the year. Hence, no one should go out of Port Blair during the school term. A student who misses the Assessments / Test will not appear at later date. No students will be allowed to leave the school after answering the test on the pretext of illness or other reasons; else the test will not be valid. Parents/guardians are requested not to send their children to school when they are ill or recovering illness. A minimum attendance of 80% will be required for promotion. In order to be promoted to a higher class, students should secure minimum 40% marks.
Students may not be permitted to appear to the Board Exams if they fail to secure at least 40% mark in the preliminary assessment.
