ANNUAL REPORT

Sagritara School aims to provide quality education and work for holistic development of the students. In this academic year we focused and worked to incorporate higher order thinking  and 21st century skills in the curriculum and children were encouraged and guided to develop book reading and critical thinking skills for their academic success. At present we have total number of 1257 students from class nursery to X, studying in our school, out of which  five students are special children studying in different classes.

Our students have been participating in various activities and competitions conducted by the school and different departments. This report includes activities and competitions conducted since April 2023 to January 2024

Class X result 2023

 Students of class X have showcased a remarkable execution of hard work with 100 % result in CBSE board examination last year. School was felicitated by our Honorable MP Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma for this achievement.

Inter School competitions and activities conducted by other departments :

 Our students have participated in various inter school competitions and programs conducted by various departments

  • Wipro Earthian 2023 sustainability Education Program for schools was organized by Wipro foundation. This year 80 projects were submitted by different schools of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Our school project was selected under top 15 projects and stood as Regional winner and was selected for National level. This project was done by a group of six students from class 9.
  • State level Science Exhibition was organized by Science Centre in which 5 students of class 9th presented the model Topic- Chandrayaan 3 and secured 2nd position with the cash prize of Rs 3000.
  • Our school received consolation prize on Republic day Parade and received trophy and certificate by our honorable lieutenant governor on Republic Day celebration 2024
  • State level camp ( level II ) exam of Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan: A digital based and largest science talent search examination for emerging India was organized in association with NCSM, Ministry of culture and NCERT in which Ekansha Singh of class IX  secured 1st position, received trophy and cash prize of Rs 5000/-
  • Commission for Education, Diocese of Port Blair organized EDUQUEST – 9, 2023, in which seven students of different classes from our school received trophy and certificates on Republic Day celebration at Nirmala school ground.
  • On the occasion of National book week state library conducted various competitions. In drawing competition Akshat Singh of class 5threceived consolation prize.
  • On the occasion of Christmas Bible story painting, competition was organized by YMCA in which Misba and Priyanshu of class IX secured 1st position, Ekansha of class IX and Satyavani of class VI secured 2nd position.
  • On the occasion of Hindi diwas , Hindi Sahitya kala parishad organized various  competitions. In drawing, Sathya Vani of class VI secured 3rdposition, Harshall of class VIII secured consolation prize. In Essay competition Ayushi Kujur of class VI secured consolation. In Quiz competition Faizal of class IX  and Tuhina of class X secured 3rd position.
  • Painting competition was organized by Science Centre to mark the Preservation of Ozone layer Day. In this competition 8 students had participated and Anushka Banerjee of class VIII secured 1st position.
  • Under National Campaign on Energy conservation, state level painting competition was organized in which Ekansha Singh of class IX received consolation prize  and cash prize Rs 7000.
  • Painting competition was organized by BSNL to mark BSNL DAY. In this competition 21 students from classes III, IV, V participated.
  • Under kala utsav 2023 various competition was conducted in which  T Raj Kumar of class IX secured 1st position in instrumental music in all three levels-  block, district and state and was selected for National level.
  • Inter School competition Rocket to Fame organized by NCS School in which T Raj Kumar was 2nd runner up in Tabla ( solo instrumental music)
  • District level boxing tournament was conducted in which V Varun Rajan of class X received Gold medal.
  • Andaman and Nicobar chess Association organized various chess competition, in the category under 17, M Kavin of class 6 secured 3rd position, under 19 – Ronnie Ronaldo of class 8 secured 1st position.
  • Under category 19, Ronnie Ronaldo of class 8 and Tejas of class 7 were selected to perform in 52nd National Chess competition which was held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
  • On the occasion of 121st Birth Anniversary of Padma Bhusana Shri K Kamraj, Kamraj School conducted various competitions in which Ekansha of class IX stood 2nd position in English Elocution and Misba Sabir stood 3rd in Hindi Elocution.

BRIEF REPORT ON ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAM CONDUCTED BY THE SCHOOL

 The school observed and celebrated various programs, activities, events which are as follows;-

  • National Festivals and important days like Independence day, Republic Day, Children’s Day, Teacher’s day were celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm in the school.
  • On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti we have conducted various activities and programs like all religion prayer, songs, fancy dress and Cleanliness drive in the school premises.
  • On the occasion of Christmas, school observed social service week to teach children values of sharing ,caring and giving.
  • In order to inculcate different skills, good habits and to develop personal and democratic values, school has conducted theme based special assemblies class wise for 1 to IX students.  Different classes were given different theme and their presentation and performance were judged by the Manager, Headmistress and the teachers.
  • We encourage and motivate students to develop English communication skills and self-discipline in their foundational stage of their school life. For this purpose rolling trophy was awarded in two categories.

1) best English speaking class

2) best disciplined and cleaned class

This practice witnessed improvement and team work especially in primary classes since last two years.

  • An Educational tour was organized for class 9th students. The students along with teachers visited Biological park, Chidya Tapu.
  • Mrs Rashida, (SHO) from Chatham police station and District Child Protection Unit team was invited for the Awareness program on POCSO for class VII to X students and short film KOMAL was shown to I to VI students to create awareness on good touch and bad touch.
  • CID branch has organized awareness program on cyber safety and security for VI to X students in the school.
  • Under Meri Mati mera desh campaign, PBMC has conducted Awareness program on Waste management and its segregation for classes V to IX students in the school.
  • Awareness on Personal hygiene and sanitation for girls class 6 to 9th was conducted by the teachers in the school
  • Under Swachhata pakhwada, School observed Swachhata hi seva in which various competitions like quiz competition, painting,  essay writing, slogan writing and Cleanliness drive were conducted class wise.
  • A team from department of social welfare led by Mrs Komal Anand, president of NGO, has conducted Awareness talk on life skills for the students of class 5 and 6.
  • Parent Orientation program for class IX and X parents was conducted on the topic Parental support to board exam students. Dr Caroline Mathew, Retd Principal of Nirmala school was invited as a resource person for the program.
  • Dr Mithish Bihari Neuropsychiatrist and De- addiction specialist was invited for the awareness program on mental health for the teachers in the school.

 ANNUAL EXHIBITION OF THE SCHOOL 2023

 Our school had organized two days Science, Art and Craft Exhibition cum Christmas celebration on 21st and 22nd December 2023. The main aim of the exhibition was to provide platform to the students to develop their thinking and creative skills and create awareness of socio- economic situations of our surroundings.

The exhibition witnessed great enthusiasm and participation of the students and a stage to explore and express their skills in the form of charts, models, activities, projects etc on different subjects like science, maths, social studies, language, computer, PT, craft and Value Education.

All the exhibits were prepared by the students under the guidance of the subject teachers in the school and the teachers also showcased their creative skills by preparing a tableau showing the eco- friendly lifestyles of tribals in our Islands and scope of eco- friendly tourism in the Islands.

To bring zest to the exhibition, the school had set up food stall and games for students and parents, which was one of the attraction point in the exhibition. Various food items and refreshments were sold on Day -1 and Day – 2.
